Fighting did not cease immediately but, for the moment, the agreement seems to be holding in general terms, although many commentators remain sceptical. As of 18th Febuary 2015, itis estimated that 5,500 people have died in the Ukraine conflict so far and over a million have been forced to leave their homes in eastern Ukraine.
